This driveway had a large void under the surface and had sank, creating trip hazards and compromised the street appeal of the home.  The homeowner's main concerns were the trip hazards and protecting the value of the home.  Defender Concrete Solutions gave the homeowner a great solution that was far more affordable than tearing out the existing driveway and replacing since the surface was in great shape.

Defender Concrete was able to lift and stabilize the slabs, which eliminated the trip hazards and made it look great again.  The joints were then sealed with NexusPro, a flexible, UV resistant compound.  This will protect water from coming through the joints in the future.  The customer was thrilled with the results and the fact that the project was done and ready for use again in one day!

Defender Concrete Solutions uses SealantPro to permanently seal the surface of your concrete.  SealantPro is unlike other topical sealants that have to be reapplied; it absorbs in and permanently seals your surface.  SealantPro is applied after we power wash the entire surface.  It is then sprayed over the entire surface and then broomed in for a smooth, even finish.  It does not leave a glossy slick surface.

This customer had a huge void under her concrete that you could actually feel while jumping on it.  The concrete had begun to sink, which created a crack down the middle.  Defender Concrete Solutions used PolyLevel foam to lift the lower portion and stabilize the whole slab to prevent future settling.  We then sealed all the joints with NexusPro, a UV resistant joint sealer that will not crack and remains flexible.  This will prevent moisture from getting under the surface again.  The customer was please with the new look and peace of mind that she will not have to worry about it getting worse and having to replace.

Job Stories From Grand Junction, CO
Driveway stabilization and sealing

Defender Concrete Solutions just completed and Job in Grand Junction Colorado.  The job entailed Lifting, stabilizing, joint sealing, crack sealing and surface protection.  As you can see in the before and after pictures, we were able to restore and protect the customer's investment for years to come.  All of this was done at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

Driveway Repair

Defender Concrete Solutions, a concrete repair company based in Grand Junction Colorado was recently selected to repair a customers driveway in Grand Junction.  The driveway had sank over time, most like from poor compaction after utility lines were dug years ago.  The concrete had sank across the driveway near the control joints, which created a trip hazard all the way across it.  If the customer had not called Defender Concrete Solutions, they may have assumed that they would need to spend the money to replace the driveway.  Defender Concrete's goal is to save the customer money by lifting and stabilizing, then sealing the joints and surface.

Fortunately, Defender was able to do just that by using PolyLevel to raise the sunken slab back into place, sealing the joints and cracks.  The end result was amazing as you can see the before and afters pictured.  We were able to do this at a fraction of what the customer would have spent otherwise.

Pooling Water/ Uneven Slab

A resident of Grand Junction, CO.  recently contacted us here at Defender Concrete Solutions.  The concern the customer had was water pooling on his sidewalk and draining towards the foundation as opposed to the yard side.  It is very important to the integrity of your foundation to have this problem corrected.  Defender Concrete gave the customer a proposal to lift the inside edge of the slab and stabilize the entire pad with PolyLevel foam.  The advantage of this method is very little down time and super cost effective compared to ripping out and replacing the concrete.  The foam does not leach or wash away, so it is a permanent solution.  The joints of the slab would also be sealed to prevent water from penetrating from above.

Once the customer approved the proposal, Defender's customer care team arranged a time that worked for the customer and then team went out and completed the job.  The customer was amazed at the results and the time it took for the team to complete the job.  As you can see in the pictures, the slab was "bowed" in the middle and had sank significantly from the edge of the siding.  In the after picture you can see that it was lift back up to a point where it would drain away from the house as originally designed.

Concrete Sealant

Defender Concrete Solutions was contacted to come out to a new subdivision in Grand Junction, CO. to perform a free estimate.  The homeowner's goal was to prevent spalling or flaking up on the surface of his concrete.  He had noticed that other driveways in the neighborhood had begun to do this.  The house's in the neighborhood are only a couple years old.  This customer did his research and was educated enough to know that if this happened to his driveway it would cost around $12,000 to $15,000 to tear out and replace his driveway.  It would have also caused weeks of disruption.

Defender Concrete Solutions was excited to be able to have a great, affordable option for him to protect his concrete for years to come.  SealantPro was eventually sprayed on and broomed in after a thorough power washing.  The great thing about SealantPro is that it is permanent and never has to be re-applied.  The joints were also sealed with NexuPro to prevent debris and moisture from entering.

After sealant pro is applied water will bead up on the surface as opposed to absorbing in.  This prevents damage to concrete over the years.

Driveway Lift/Stabilization

A customer called Defender Concrete Solutions with a major concern over a driveway that had sank significantly.  This was causing a severe bump while pulling into the driveway and a tripping hazard.  The customer also had concerns of potential spalling and issues with the joints allowing water to penetrate under the slab.

Defender Concrete Solutions, that covers the western slope of Colorado had solutions for each problem.  The slab was lifted and stabilized by pumping PolyLevel foam through a tiny porthole under the slab.  This creates a permanent remedy since it compacts the soil underneath as it begins to lift.  The entire surface of the slab and front walkway was then sealed after power washing.  It was sealed with SealantPro, which is a permanent sealer requiring only one application.  The joints were then sealed with a flexible, UV resistant joint compound called NexusPro.  As you can see from the results, the slab was restored as well as the customer's peace of mind.

Stoop and Patio Repair

Defender Concrete had a big challenge with a project in Grand Junction, CO.  A large stoop/patio had began to sink on the front edge.  It created a crack in the middle of the patio and was pulling the stairs away from the house as they were sinking to the same side.  The challenge was the amount of weight on the front edge compared to the rest of the patio.  This means that when lifting and stabilized with PolyLevel the back side near the crack would want to raise as well.  Defender used slab jacks to hydraulically lift the entire stoop before actually pumping foam in.  This method allowed for precise stabilization and force the foam where we wanted it to go.  We then sealed the cracks and joints and even matched the color.  The pictures will show a little darker in these areas, but when it sets up and cures good, it should blend nicely.  The stairs were also stabilized and lifted which tightened them back up against the house.  The cost of this versus ripping apart and re-pouring a new stoop were exponentially cheaper and we were finished in around 3 hours.

uneven concrete driveway lifting and leveling

After debating the cost of ripping up existing concrete and having a new driveway poured, a customer called us at Defender Concrete Solutions to do a free estimate.  The slab was raised above the garage entry at one point and sunk at least 2 inches in the middle of the driveway.  Overall the driveway was uneven on every slab.  After insuring the customer that we could have her driveway back in new condition in one day at a fraction of the cost of ripping and replacing, she chose us.

Our crew was able to use PolyLevel to lift the low portions of the concrete, while at the same time bringing the high areas in front of the garage back to normal surface area.  The slab was then protected from future damage by sealing the joints in the slab with NexusPro, which is a UV resistant joint compound that will far outlast traditional silicone caulking.  The customer was shocked at the results and couldn't believe that we were able to back the work with a 5 year guarantee.  She gave us high praise for professionalism and responsiveness.

Concrete Repair to sunken patio

A Grand Junction, CO. customer had an issue with their back patio sinking.  This created an eye sore and trip hazard by the connecting sidewalk.  The patio had sunk to a level that exposed re-bar in a few areas.  Our crew was able to lift the patio with PolyLevel foam back to level and allowed the rebar to be sealed and covered again. PolyLevel is light weight, strong, and enviro friendly.  It will last forever and prevent further damage to the concrete.  The control joints were then sealed to prevent further moisture from penetrating the surface.  The customer was amazed at the results we were able to provide to them, giving their patio and sidewalk a fresh new look within a day.
